First Things First – Priorities
“Where lives change and where life can begin again”
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall
be added to you.” Matt. 6:33
“25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My
sake will find it. 26 For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and
loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?” Matt. 16:25-26
Sometimes we just have to be honest, some things are just not a priority. What we
deem important, we will put the most attention to. What things are the most important
If your life is in a slump, look at where you spend your most time. If you are suffering
from depression, anger issues, financial frustrations, check out your time in the
presence of God. Especially your time in the Word. Make it a priority in your life.
Life may be going great; enough money, good career, good marriage, and 2.5 kids. A
normal, “perfect life”. Or is it? When God is not at the center of your joy and life, there
will always be a missing piece. Or a missing “PEACE”.
Last week we talked about having the DNA of God. We are made by Him and just like
Him. There will always be a part of Him in you that longs for Him. Until we decide to
commit ourselves and make the decision to fully let him in our life, there is always a
missing piece and a missing peace.
My testimony: I have to make God, the God of my life every day. There is always a
temptation to do it my way.
Every day, I have to decide to make God the priority in my life. To not lean to
my own understanding, but acknowledge Him in all my ways.
Every day, I have to make the Word a priority.
Every day, I have to watch my words. Allowing the words of God to flow out of
my mouth and not what my situation is telling me. Whether it is physical,
emotional, financial, family, marriage or friends. The Word of God is first place.
This is a diligent decision and a lifestyle. That’s right, a lifestyle. It’s the way we live,
every day. The Word of God is always living and transforming your life. You may not
see it yet, but keep doing it and putting it in and before you know it, you will see the
changes in your life.
Make God your first priority. It comes down to one thing, “Is God a priority in your
life?” If not, make the change today and watch your life change for the good. It is that
missing piece and peace in your life.
