The Sower Sows the Word Series Part 4 “On Good Ground”

The Sower Sows the Word Series Part 4 “On Good Ground”

parable of sower 2

“Where lives change and where life can begin again”

Hold on and keep reading, this promises to be quite a revelation.

Let’s look at the different seeds of the Word sown from Mark 4

In Mark 4, we see, the seed that is sown by the wayside. They heard the word, but did

nothing with it. It laid there unused and untouched, so Satan came and stole the Word

from their hearts. He came and devoured the Word sown. We also see, the seed on

stony ground. They heard the word, and “immediately” it sprung up, but had no root.

So, when the hot sun came up, it withered away the seed that was sown. We also see,

the seed that grew among thorns. They also heard the word and even got excited about

it, but the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches, choked the Word that was

sown. They lost the very oxygen and life source that brings nourishment to the seed.

It hurts my heart to hear the stories of so many people that I know just like these

people. I want to cry out, “Don’t quit, press in! God loves you and He believes in you,

but you must believe in yourself and the Word that is sown into your life. You must

believe the Word. You must believe God.”

Those that believe the Word will act upon the word no matter what it looks like to

others and no matter what it takes.

Let’s examine the Word sown on Good Ground.

Mark 4:8-9

But other seed fell on good ground and yielded a crop that sprang up, increased and

produced: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.”

9 And He said to them, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”

Jesus explains…

20 But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the word, accept it,

and bear fruit: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.”

You see, good ground is to fall totally in love with the Father God, and to totally trust

Him with your whole life. It is not a partial decision, but a sold out decision, that I am

going in with all that I am, good or bad. God accepts us just the way we are. The Word

of God reveals that to us and brings us to the place of maturity, where Satan never

wants us to enter. In order to be good ground, we do this with all of our heart, with all

of our soul, with all of our mind, and with all of our strength. We love God. There is

no longer a struggle to read, or worship, or pray, or walk with a constant connection to

our Father. He has sunken deep within us.

(Luke 10:27)

Let’s look back at the others once again.

The Wayside seed – sometimes we come into church so excited. But not realizing the

seriousness of the commitment. Not realizing the seriousness of the journey. The

journey will not look good sometimes and it will not feel good sometimes. However,

we must be sold out that, because it’s God, it is good all the time. If we hold on to the

Word we hear and take it deep within our hearts, we will know the journey is taking us

to our destiny, no matter how painful or hard. God knows the destiny better than we

do, and we must hold on to every word that He says, just like it is gold. It is the

treasure in the field of life.

  • Without consistency, Satan steals the joy of what we hear, and we fall back into

the same struggle. It gets burned up in the heat of life.

On stony ground, the root comes with time spent in the Word of God. Being around a

body of believers that encourage one another in faith and love. Hearing the Word on a

consistent basis. The persistence, and diligence to stay when everything else pulls you

away. Without a root, anything and everything will uproot you from the very thing that

keeps you and gives you the nourishment that you need. Satan comes for the Word

sown in your heart. He comes to steal, kill and destroy it out of your life. He realizes

what will happen when you really come into the knowledge of who you are in Him.

You will become a “God man” in the earth, just like Jesus. Keep your “feet” in the

river of God’s Word and allow yourself to take root.

  • Without a root we are blown away and captured back into the whirlwind of life.

Among Thorns – this is what we deal with on a daily basis as people in the world,

thorns. But as people walking in kingdom principles, we must be wise and constantly

aware of the tactics of the enemy. The moment we become born again we are walking

targets for the enemy. Our light shines from the moment we say “yes” to Jesus as our

Lord. The cares of this world, what does God say about that? “Cast the whole of your

care upon me”. (1 Pet. 5:7) The deceitfulness of riches, what does God say about that?

Matt 6:25, do not worry about your life. Matt 6:33, but, seek first the kingdom of God

and His righteousness …

Remember what God has said, and allow it to take good root in you, so that when

Satan comes, like the big bad wolf, you will know. Desires for other things other than

the presence of God, God knows that things will not bring you the wholeness that you

long for, but Satan comes to confuse the minds of the righteous and cause them to

choke and be strangled by the cares of this world. Our lives will look amazingly

unfruitful. We go from mercy to mercy and kindness to kindness, but never obtaining

and walking in the full blessing of God.

  • Without knowing God’s Word, the craftiness of this world will choke our source

of life, The Word of God. If we have no life source, what happens? We die, in

the spirit. The most important part of our being.

Now, Good Ground, these are the ones that hear the word and ACCEPT IT! And bear

fruit.

These are the ones that take God at face value and know and trust Him at His Word.

These are the ones that dig deeper and make the decision to learn more. What does the

word say, “you will know them by their fruit.” (Matt. 7:20)

The fruit isn’t money or things, it is truly walking in the fruit of who He is, love, joy,

peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. As

God’s word begins to be a priority in your life, you will begin to walk in these

attributes of God, and there is nothing that will be withheld from you. All these things

will be added to you. (The spirit and the natural things) These attributes is what the

kingdom consists of. This is what makes your life complete and whole.

If you still have your mind on money as the answer to everything, you are still missing

the true riches that God is pouring into our lives. The riches that far outweigh gold or

money. Satan wants our focus to be on the things of this world, but kingdom people are

focused on eternity.

There is nothing that God will withhold from us, even riches, durable riches, but if we

don’t have these nuggets of true gold, we will never have the durable riches. Durable

riches are necessary to build kingdom centers and places where people can grow and

learn. Durable riches are necessary to feed the hungry and help the world where we

are. Our communities, our cities, our nation, and our world. But when we focus on the

world’s ways, we will only have temporary satisfaction, success and joy. We will never

obtain the true riches that God has for all of us until His Word becomes first place in

our lives and heart. Then these attributes grow in our heart and lives and produce the

fruit God intended.

Let us all be good ground starting today. Bearing the fruit God intended for us to bear

as we hear His Word and accept it into our hearts, and we will bear much fruit for the

kingdom and our lives and all those that God has called us to touch in our lifetime.

Some thirty, some sixty, some hundredfold. How much fruit will you bear?

Those that have ears to hear, let them hear what the Spirit is saying. Amen!
