The Potential in You Part 7 Faithfulness – “He is called faithful and true – What are you called?”

The Potential in You Part 7
Faithfulness – “He is called faithful and true – What are you called?”

“Where lives change and where life can begin again”

I had to stop and think about that for a minute. What am I called? Can someone depend on

me? Am I who I say I am? When people look at my life, what are they saying about me?

I tell my children, “Keep planting good things, because it comes back to you. Good or bad

seeds that are planted, will produce, so plant good stuff and a lot of it!” People are going to

say a lot of things about you, just don’t let the bad be true. The truth will always prevail in

the end. I am not impressed or overly hurt if people are saying good things or bad, the only

person’s opinion that matters, is God’s. Always determine “your good or your bad” from the

Word of God. it will direct and guide you right every time.

Keep in mind, our lives should be fashioned after Christ and stay mindful to allow Him to be

our great example. You can never go wrong based upon the words, “What Would Jesus Do?”

An excellent question to ask ourselves with every dilemma or question in our lives. “What

would He do’? Then, what will I do?

The “Fruit of the Spirit” are action words. Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness,

Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control. (Galatians 5:22-23) They all require us to do

something. This “Fruit” is required to be seen in our lives each day and to be an active part

of who we are.

Faithful is being the same yesterday, today and forever in the right direction, doing the right

thing. Being like Jesus, that constant and steadfast example of love.

The word “true” is defined as no falsehood. No deceit, pure, real, always “crystal clear”.

(3) Steps to being “Faithful” with God

Let’s be real!

Stop trying to fake it, when you can’t fake God. He sees everything, so let’s keep it real. He

can handle whatever questions or struggles you may have. Keep it real! He likes real!

Make a final decision

Be all in or be all out. Don’t ride the fence. God does not like “lukewarm” Believers.

(see Rev. 3:15-17)

Make the decision to say, “I’m here for you God for the rest of my life and I will do all that it

takes to get it right before YOU.

“Dive” in.

Totally immerse yourself in the Word of God.

Get Cd’s, DVD’s and whatever will feed your faith and strengthen your walk with God. Don’t

slowly walk in, “dive”. Get totally “wet and soaked” in the Word of God, with faith- based

messages that feed your spirit. Don’t look back, don’t turn back and, don’t go back. There is

nothing back there, but more pain; leading in the direction of destruction and eventual

spiritual death.

One key to being faithful to others and to commitments in your life is being faithful over the

small things. Stop trying to do so much, so fast. You will be overwhelmed, and you will want

to QUIT! I can’t tell you how many times I have wanted to quit. The Holy Spirit always

reminds me that I must be faithful to the Word and spending time in God’s presence. He

never fails to put me back on course and going in the right direction and he

will do the same for you too.

Let’s start putting our fruit of faithfulness to action.

 Homework:

Be faithful to read the Word every day. (1 or 2 chapters)

Be faithful to pray every morning when you get up.

Be faithful to study a chapter a week. (Looking up certain words in the chapter and using

other study reference books to help you understand more of what you are reading. Getting

with a friend and discussing the chapter together)

Be faithful to read a faith-filled book every month, (based on size of the book). If book is

bigger, you have more time.

Psalms 12:1  – “Help, Lord, for the godly man ceases! For the faithful disappear from among

the sons of men.”

Matthew 25:21 – “His lord said to him, well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful

over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your

 lord.”

Begin to do something to increase your spirit and your knowledge to build yourself and

others. It begins by being faithful, consistent, and true. Today is the day! Right?

Just say “YES!”
