OUR PASTORS

Tommy Roberts

Tommy Roberts is the Senior Pastor of LifePointe Christian Faith Center. Since 1992, Tommy has been actively teaching people within the local church how to live by faith. He has ministered in many churches throughout the United States and the country of Haiti. He is a passionate and insightful teacher, who delivers the Word of God with ease and simplicity. God has used Tommy to help rejuvenate those who have been turned off or burned out due to religious tradition, those who have strayed in their walk with God, as well as Christians who desire to hear God’s Word delivered in everyday terms. Tommy, along with his wife Lynette, have served tirelessly in church and youth ministry for many years. His past assignments include those of Associate Elder and Youth pastor at Covenant Community Fellowship Church, W-S, NC. Assistant Pastor of Friendship C.O.G.I.C. , Friendship, N.Y., State President of Youth Ministries (Y.P.W.W.) C.O.G.I.C. Jurisdiction #2 of Western N.Y. and most recently Director of Student Ministries/Youth Pastor of Heritage of Faith Christian Center, Crowley, TX. In November of 2008, God placed a desire in Tommy and Lynette Roberts to move to Iowa City to assist the founding Pastors with their church planting efforts. Out of this move and the ministry transition that came in 2010, Pastor Tommy was installed as the Senior Pastor of LifePointe Christian Faith Center on July 25th, 2010.

Lynette Roberts

Lynette Roberts was born in Washington, D.C. and raised in the Atlanta metropolitan area. At the age of 16, she was introduced to Jesus and began to read her Bible on a consistent basis and formed an intimate relationship with God and His son Jesus our Christ. Never joining a church, her growth was small, but her confidence in God never waned. She prayed during the hard times and always believed God was going to turn it all around. Lynette attended her first year of college at Howard University in Washington, D.C., became homesick and decided to attend her next two years at Georgia State University. After being home that first summer of college, she met Tommy Roberts and fell completely in love. After 8 years of marriage, Tommy and Lynette gave their lives to the Lord and became one in the Spirit as well as on paper. The journey of ministry began, and they still walk out the story of their ministry to the world to this day. Her passion for God never stops and her love grows each day. She is a teacher and a lover of people. She supports her husband as the Executive Pastor of LifePointe as they both raise up disciples for Jesus Christ and watch as LifePointe becomes the center for change for everyone that wants and needs change in their lives. She counts it an honor to serve and love the people of God until she sees her Lord and Savior face to face.

Exciting discussions about the 21st century women; how to keep a strong, vibrant marriage, what does love look like and so much more. Come join the discussion!

KidsPointe

Children’s Ministry – 18 months old – 6th grade Kids learning about Father God, Jesus, the wonderful Holy Spirit and more at their own pace and level. Having fun is the name of the game! If we aren’t laughing and having fun, then we aren’t having church! Come join us and grow with us! Where kids grow and have fun, their way!

Music

Come and let us make a joyful noise unto the Lord! If you can sing, play an instrument then our music department would be a great opportunity for you! We are always looking for talent with a heart for God. Come learn more about this exciting ministry.

Discipleship and Training

Classes, outreach, benevolence and follow up. Discipleship is a deeper call each one of us is to walk in. There are classes to help you learn and grow into a deeper walk with God. This area of ministry is called to go beyond our walls into our community to disciple people and help them learn more about God. Get involved in our outreaches and opportunities to touch others in our community.

Media

Expanding our reach through virtual outreach. The media department helps to broadcast God’s message through the airways as God speaks through the shepherds and guest ministers of LifePointe Christian Faith Center. Always engaging with our brothers and sisters in Christ through social media platforms. The media department is always looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals who want to impact the earth for the Kingdom of God.
