The Potential in You Part 4 Patience – “Wait I say Upon the Lord”

The Potential in You Part 4
Patience – “Wait I say Upon the Lord”

“Where lives change and where life can begin again”

I pray that you had an amazing Christmas. It is one thing to have Christmas full of family and

friends, but it is so much better to have Christmas full of “Christ”. I can go anywhere and be

with anyone or no one and still be fulfilled, because He is with me.

So, I pray you had a “Christ-filled” Christmas. He makes all the difference!

We have been talking about, “The Potential in You”. Each one of us has a wonderful potential

within us. It is God given and God originated. From the moment we gave our lives to Christ,

we became born again into a new beginning. He put himself within us to do great things.

Now that we have his characteristics within us, we must develop them every day. It is a

growing and maturing process that gets better as we put them to use in our lives. I’m

referring to the Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Gentleness, Faithfulness, Goodness,

and Self-Control now living on the inside of you. This is the power within us to accomplish

great things in our lives. It is the fruit or the very “essence” of God in us”. God came to make

His home in each one of us. Not to make us feel warm and cozy all over, but that

the power within us would change the world around us.

Let’s talk about Patience.

Let’s define what it is. When larger words are broken down and defined, our understanding

brings revelation of what we are reading and transforms our heart and minds. The

bible says in Proverbs, “in all of our getting, get understanding”. (Proverbs 4:5-7)

Without understanding it becomes surface knowledge and fleeting, never bearing fruit

or results in our life. We should want and desire deeper revelation to bring results that

change our world and make it better.

Dictionary. com states…

Patience – the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting angry

or upset. the quality of being patient, as the bearing of provocation, annoyance, misfortune,

or pain, without complaint, loss of temper, irritation, or the like. 2. an ability or willingness to

suppress restlessness or annoyance when confronted with delay. This definition is fine if it is

not an effort of our own minds or mental capacity. But real patience comes from deep within

as we develop our knowledge of the God in us and for us.

The bible talks about patience in James 1:2-6.

James 1:2-6 (NKJV)

2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing

of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be

perfect and complete, lacking nothing. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who

gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask in

faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed

by the wind.

Patience waits, knowing this, that God hears, knows and answers without delay. I

am reminded of Daniel many times in my waiting.

Please read Daniel 10:4-20

The story of Daniel always encourages my soul when the waiting appears to be alone and

unheard and longer than I anticipated. As you read Daniel 10, you will realize that angels are

fighting on your behalf according to your prayers of faith. Not your complaining or crying, no

matter how loud or quiet, God is moved by your faith.

Daniel 10:12 (NKJV)

12″ Then he said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel or (Lynette), for from the first day that you set

your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard;

and I have come because of your words”.

God listens and comes because of our words of faith and love toward Him. Put your name in

this passage. This bible is for you. Not to just tell you stories, but to lead you through life and

give instruction to succeed. It also gives you amazing examples of faith.

James1 says…

6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven

and tossed by the wind. And it goes on to say, “For let not that man suppose that he will

receive anything from the Lord;”.

Our faith produces patience in God. Any other patience is human made and forced and

usually will not last under the pressure. However, God-given faith will last for a lifetime and

our patience will rest in His ability and not ourselves or others.

“But let patience have its perfect work, so that you will be entire, and wanting nothing.” Whole

and complete, strong and confident to stand in the battle and win. Every time!

When we realize that it isn’t us, but Him in us, we can stand against every storm that is

formed in our lives with confidence, patience and a no quit, I win attitude. You will come out

on top, with total victory. With not only your patience intact, but stronger and more persistent.

Let the scriptures in Daniel encourage you that God is already on the way as you pray. Don’t

stop thanking God for the answer and rest assured, it is only a matter of a little time.

The potential is on the inside of you to work the patience in your life. Don’t look to yourself,

but to Him. I don’t know about you, but I want to be “Whole” and “Entire” and wanting

NOTHING! I REST, and the peace of God surrounds me.

I’m on my way, how about you?

The Potential in You Part 3 “Peace – The World Won’t Understand You”

The Potential in You Part 3
“Peace – The World Won’t Understand You”

“Where lives change and where life can begin again”

Hi There! Are you ready to get in the Word? I am! This is the richest part of my week. My

prayers are that these devotionals of study will enrich your life and inspire you to go deeper

into the things of God. I want to make these truths as simple as possible to help you in your

everyday walk of life. The study of the Word is the best decision you could ever make. As you

apply these steps, I promise, God promises, your life will change for the good.

Let’s talk about peace. Let’s look at some scriptures that helps us know the covenant that

God has with us concerning peace.

Isaiah 26:12 (NKJV)

Lord, You will establish peace for us, For You have also done all our works in us.

Isaiah 54:10 (NKJV)

For the mountains shall depart And the hills be removed,

But My kindness shall not depart from you, Nor shall My covenant of peace be removed,”

 Says the

Lord, who has mercy on you.

John 14:27 (MSG)

25-27 “I’m telling you these things while I’m still living with you. The Friend, the Holy Spirit

whom the Father will send at my request, will make everything plain to you. He will remind

you of all the things I have told you. I’m leaving you well and whole. That’s my parting gift to

you. Peace. I don’t leave you the way you’re used to being left—feeling abandoned, bereft. So,

don’t be upset. Don’t be distraught.

Jesus left us a precious gift, because He knew we would need Him to win the “battles” in our

lives. The Holy Spirit is the best gift you can have. Peace is a part of Him and one of the

many gifts we have from God. Remember, God is not the author of confusion, Satan is.

Where there is peace, you know this is God. Always follow peace. When there is confusion

and turmoil, quickly recognize it is Satan. Run immediately to the Word.

(1 Corinthians 14:33)

Simple, right? No, not until we settle this in our hearts, that God is in us and we have the

power of peace in us to figure out any situation and come out on top, then it becomes

simpler. We must recognize the tactics of the enemy quickly and do what God has told us.

Rejoice! Meditate the Word in you and breath deep and find the peace of God. If there is no

word in you, there will be nothing to meditate on accept what you see around you. The Word

of God is vital to your peace. Hear His voice and He will lead. God has given us the awesome

gift of the Holy Spirit to guide us and lead us to peace and to our victory. Once peace comes,

answers will follow. In February, 2004, I received a phone call that my daughter had been in a

fatal drowning accident. My life as I knew it went spiraling down and I felt totally out of

control. I had to get away from the screams and tears and hear God. I didn’t understand. I

got quiet and took a deep breath, the first of many over the next year, and I asked God “What

is going on?” And He told me, “Lynette, I caught her in my arms and she never knew a

moment of fear or pain.” I told Him, “I don’t understand.” He asked, “Do you trust me?” I said,

“Yes, Lord.” Peace filled the room like a blanket of comfort and I knew He was in the room

with me. I can’t say the road was easy from that day on, but it got better with each day that I

put my hand in His hand and trusted Him with  each step. That is the peace that surpasses

all understanding. The world can’t understand this peace, but it is in you because you made

Jesus the Lord of your life. And He sent you the “Comforter” that bought peace with Him.

Definition of peace:

Freedom of the mind from annoyance, distraction, anxiety, an obsession, etc.; tranquility,

serenity. Free from the bondage of Satan.

It is so important that we know how Satan comes into our lives to bring confusion and stress.

(2 Cor 2:11) If we don’t start recognizing the signs, we will keep going in the same crazy

cycle forever. While he is pushing our buttons, and keeping us on puppet strings and we are

dancing to his beat, unfortunately, he is laughing at our expense. Enough is enough! God has

already given us a way of escape. The power of His peace within us.

Philippians 4:6-7

6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let

your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all

understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Stop stressing over the mountains in your life. What did God say to do to  those mountains?

(Mark 11:22-24) Speak to them, believing with the faith of God. You can’t even speak until

you have received your peace to hear God and know what to say and when.

Pull out the fruit of peace, it’s in there. Know the potential that is on the inside of you. You

can change your world, right now. Don’t wait one more minute,

start today!

Homework:

You have lots of scripture here to study and meditate on. Take each scripture written out and

in parenthesis and write them all down. Take time to meditate upon the power in you to

create the peace you need in your life TODAY. Everyone needs it. I need it and you need it.

I make the commitment to study these scriptures right along with you. Get together with a

friend and hold one another accountable to read this week.

Are you ready to change? You got the power. Use it to change your world.

Next week:

“Patience – Wait Only On The Lord”

When God speaks everyone should listen.

The Potential in You Part 2 “Joy, it’s more than a feeling!”

The Potential in You Part 2
“Joy, it’s more than a feeling!”

“Where lives change and where life can begin again”

It’s that time again. A time of reflection and study of the Word and looking at our daily life

journey. It’s important to look at our lives and examine ourselves in the mirror of God’s

Word. Not to condemn, but to make us better and stronger and more determined to reflect

the image of Christ in all that we do.

That is why the Fruit of the Spirit is so vitally important. It gives us a guideline of what we

should strive for each day of our journey. Not striving in works, but in receiving the

characteristics of Jesus into our daily lives. Since they are already there on the inside of us,

let’s learn to allow them to develop in us each day.

Last week we looked at the Power of Love. It is by far the most powerful of the 9 attributes

of the “God-head.” Love is exactly who they are. And all the other attributes feed off of

love. So, developing a good, sound love-walk is highly important. It will bring success to

your life in every area when applied.

Let’s look at Joy…

Joy is defined in a common dictionary as being high spirited delight, jubilant, gleeful,

elated. An emotion of great happiness, delight, and pleasure. These are all natural, earthy

descriptions of joy. However, a God-centered joy is…an internal knowing that brings

confidence and peace that cannot be explained by the natural understanding…It is

a laughter that wells up in your soul even in the worst of situations.

True joy comes from God and God alone. Natural joy is fleeting and temporary and only

happens in the best situations. On the other hand, the joy that comes from God produces

confidence at all times, and in all circumstances. It may be something we have to locate in

times of pressure, but it is there, always, because of the God in us!

Where would our confidence be if it were not for the Word of God. It would be in ourselves,

which is highly temporary and weak at best.

James 1:2-4 (NKJV)…2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various

trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let

patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking

nothing.

I am going to add a little of my own definition (revelation, paraphrase) to this scripture to

bring a stronger meaning to joy; I pray it helps you.

“My brethren, have an internal knowing that brings confidence and peace that

cannot be explained, but you know God is at work, when you fall into various

trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience… Have laughter on

your lips and an expectancy of God that only produces true joy in your heart,

knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its

perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete lacking nothing.”

Joy is a powerful part of the life of a believer. That is why Satan works so hard to steal it

away from our hearts. Joy is a weapon against “the enemy” that confounds and leads him

to pure frustration. It confuses him and causes him to run away scared and defeated. How

do you defeat Satan? Laugh! Laugh by faith as hard as you can, and rest assured God is

working on your behalf in your faith.

James 4:7 (BSB)…7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will

flee from you.

  • Submit to the God on the inside of you. Find the capacity within you to find the joy.

It’s in there so laugh anyway! Get into the Word and build your faith.

  • Resist the devil’s nagging voice in your ear, with the strongest belly laugh you can

muster up. Ha ha ha! Ha ha!

Soon the laughter will be real, and spirit felt, and a shining glow of God’s presence will be all

around you. All the angelic forces will come to your aid.

  • And then, suddenly all the devil’s sidemen and all his schemes will get out of your

presence quick, fast and in a hurry. Hee hee hee! I like to get Satan when he least

expects it. He doesn’t expect you to laugh when the pressure is on, but you do it

anyway. Find the joy inside of you.

How do I find the joy Pastor Lynette? By getting into the Word and feeding your faith. Write

and bring to remembrance the faithfulness of God and His love. Rehearse the testimonies of

God’s goodness. The joy will come flooding your soul and the pain will diminish and leave.

When you realize the power and potential on the inside of you, it can be so much fun

kicking the devil out of your life. Keep the joy flowing in your life. Let it run like “streams of

strength and power.” Stop and remember all of God’s greatness and His love for you and

the joy will come flooding through your thoughts and then into your heart and a smile will

come streaming over your face and fill your entire day with the power of God…

I pray this was helpful to you today, it helped me. (Smile) (Belly laugh) (ROTFLL…Rolling

On The Floor Laughing Loudly)

I told you, this can be so much fun!

Next week: We will be discussing “Peace – The power within us that passes all

understanding” People won’t understand you.

The Potential in You Part 1 “The Power of Love”

The Potential in You Part 1
“The Power of Love”

“Where lives change and where life can begin again”

Hi there! Go grab a cup of coffee or hot chocolate and let’s learn more about God. Bring a

friend over and discuss the message and let’s just have fun learning.

You know, I began to ask God a few questions of why people struggle with their salvation and

their giving and their loving others. Some of them talk and act one way in church, but then

they go home and live different lives. How sad. They miss the best of God. They live their

lives trying to please others and themselves and not realizing that there is a “one and only”

True God. He sees everything and knows everything within our hearts. Hard to trick, huh? We

must realize that life is not a game we play, but a life of learning and growing in the

knowledge of that God. We must live a life believing God in everything. Our one life pursuit is

getting to know Him more. And His one life pursuit is to give us everything we need and

desire. (Hebrews 11:6) When we seek God, everything else is added to us. (Matt 6:33)

The greatest joy that I have living as a Christian, is bringing joy to the Father. I stay

determined to learn what it takes to live a successful life in the Kingdom while living on this

earth. Trusting the voice that is on the inside of me and walking by faith, knowing that I’m

never alone. I can never fail if I am always in Him. No matter what it looks like, I am

succeeding.

We will be talking about the “potential in you” and how God designed you to be

successful. He has given us tools and gifts and all of Himself to make this life prosperous

and full of peace and joy. However, this is only done through God’s way. We will be examining

the nature and the characteristics of God. If God has never failed, nor will he ever fail. and

God is inside you, then you have His nature for success.

If you haven’t guessed it yet, we will be talking about “The Fruit of the Spirit”. This is a road

map to success that God has given to us if we activate what is on the inside of us, which

is God Himself. The Fruit of the Spirit is so much more than a lesson for kids or a song for

kids to memorize. It is our lifelong lesson to become more and more like God.

So, we will start off with the characteristic of love. You know love is a key characteristic that

God commands we walk in. But, He did not command us to do something that He did not

give us the ability to be successful in.

God is love. Real simple, right? Then why do we struggle? Let’s look at a few scriptures to

make it easier. The Word always makes it easier.

First, You must believe that He is. Huge point!

Hebrews 11:6

“6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe

that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

It takes diligence in this world to know God and to grow in Him. To know Him is to love him

and believe the love inside of you.

Second, You must believe the love.

Romans 8:38-39

“38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the

present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all

creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

There is nothing that you have done in the past, present, or future that can separate you from

His love. He believes in you, now believe in Him.

Say after me, “I believe the love!”

Third, You can love just like God because He is on the inside of you.

John 14:23-24

“23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My

Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. 24 He who does

not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the

Father’s who sent Me.”

Jesus reminds us that the message that he is speaking is The Father’s. When we

except Jesus into our heart and work to do His commands of love, they all will come and live

on the inside of us. Giving us the ability to love and walk in the very characteristics and

nature of God.

Begin, seeing people through the eyes of God, the eyes of Love. The love is on the inside of

you. Activate it by believing it. Before you leave your house, daily, decide to love and forgive.

There will be many opportunities for offense and forgiveness, choose to love.

Satan will no longer have the power to control your heart and your feelings and emotions.

When Satan brings thoughts of bad to our minds, we now have the power to cast them down

with love. We choose to walk in the love and believe the love.

Think about it, gain knowledge of the increase of control and power you have over your

life and over demonic influences. Satan can come in and change your whole day with one

word or one bad attitude. Choosing to love puts the “ball” of control back in your court.

Let’s not give any place to Satan in our lives. Recognize the power within you to change your

world with love every day. The potential lies within you. It’s just a firm decision away.

Next week we will continue to talk about the Fruit of the Spirit. The “Potential in You”, Joy, It’s

more than a feeling

You have more power than you know.

If this message has blessed you, please prayerfully consider giving to further assist us as we continue to touch the lives of many people with the gospel of Jesus Christ. (Please use our online giving button above)
