Prayer Part 4
Fighting Battles in Prayer

Prayer

“Where lives change and where life can begin again”

Getting frustrated with life is a normal part of life. So, if you are a

Christian and you get frustrated with people and circumstances in your

life, you are normal. Good to know, right? However, what do you do

with the frustrations and how do you handle them? Do you get mad at

the people around you or “cry the blues” with every challenge that

comes your way?

There is a way to fight (handle or deal?) that is not normal. At least not

to the world. There is a way to fight with your hands held high to

heaven and with laughter on your lips and a dance in your step! There

is also a way to fight with determination and persistence, and a “no

going down” attitude. Let’s fight with our armor on!

Ephesians 6:10-13 (NKJV)

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His

might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to

stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against

flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the

rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness

in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God,

that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all,

to stand.

Put on Salvation – knowing that we live in the covenant of the “Life in

Christ Jesus”. We don’t live under the law but by the grace of Jesus. We

can come boldly to the throne of God knowing we are the children of

the King. And there is nothing good that He will withhold from us. (Heb.

4:16, Ps. 84:11)

Put on Faith – Having faith in God! He is the God that hears, knows, and

sees all! He is touched by our infirmities and intercedes for us day

and night. We can have faith in what we declare through Him. (Heb

4:15, Rom 8:34)

Put on Righteousness – We all receive the righteousness of Jesus when

we receive him into our hearts. He fills us with His righteousness and

cleanses us from all unrighteousness. So, we can pray to fight a good

fight, knowing who we are, and knowing the victory is ours if we stand

and don’t quit.

Put on the Spirit of God – We need the Spirit of God to lead us in the

right directions and teach us as we walk in these battles. Hearing the

voice of God and being confident in Him that He will lead you to victory

every time. Stir up the gift on the inside of you and fight the good

fight!

Put on the Gospel of Peace – The Word of God will always bring you

peace. War endeavors to bring confusion and turmoil to cause you to

go in the wrong direction and listen to the wrong voice. Listen to what

you have learned and stand upon the scripture and peace will begin to

surround your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We don’t war after the

flesh but in the spirit. Listen very carefully to what you know of God

and follow that still, small voice and not the one screaming in front of

you. Spiritually and naturally.

Put on Truth – The truth will make you free. (John 8:32) There is

nothing like freedom. Anyone that has been imprisoned or has had

their liberty taken away for any amount of time, understands the beauty

of freedom. When we fight, let the truth be our banner. It will always bring

freedom to you to go wherever you need or desire with boldness and

honor. It is the best way to fight! Lies will create more lies, but the truth will

stand on its own.

Lastly, Put on All Kinds of Prayer – We don’t fight with just our natural

language or just one way of praying. We fight with laughter, tears,

dancing, shouting, rejoicing with boldness and strength and confidence

in our God and doing it all in the Spirit. Praying in the Spirit and in the

understanding, letting the Devil know greater is He that is in me, than

he that is in the World. (1 John 4:4)

Stand confident in this one thing, God is for you and not against you.

He already sees you as victorious, but we have an enemy in this world

that comes against our God and everything that He stands for. So,

guess what? He comes against you too. Satan does not want you to

speak, or prayer or sing, or dance. Those are war signals to him

because it moves the hand of God as you pray and rejoice and worship

in His name.

So, pray with all your might! Fight the good fight! Give thanks and show

the Devil you mean business and quickly he will flee, and the victory is

yours! The Angels are on the way!
