Psalm 23 Part 4
The Path of Righteousness
“Where lives change and where life can begin again”
The beauty of our righteousness is totally complete in Christ Jesus our
Lord. If we have made Jesus the Lord over our lives and allowed Him to
come into our hearts, He calls us righteous.
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
We are not righteous for ourselves alone, but for His name’s sake. We
are clean to show others the way to a path of life.
2 Corinthians 5:21 (NKJV)
21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might
become the righteousness of God in Him.
What does it mean to be righteous?
To be good, virtuous, upright, upstanding, decent; ethical, principled,
moral, law-abiding, honest, honorable, blameless, pure…
Not one of us can be these things on our own. We can try, but we will
fail at some point. It is the blood of Jesus that has made us righteous.
“…being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in
Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood,
through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His
forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously
committed…” (Romans 3:24-25 (NKJV)
God has put us back into right standing (righteousness) with Him
through the precious blood of Jesus. It is a gift of God, that is to be
received and held in high esteem. It is to be remembered and honored.
Now the journey begins by walking down the path that he has created
for us, one step at a time. It is a path of love that keeps us on the right
path toward eternity. Love for God; with all our heart, mind, soul, and
strength. Complete love for others as He teaches us how to love each
Your path is a journey of determination to stay the course. Your
determination will be challenged and tested every day. Be prepared!
Know that you have an enemy, but you also have all of heaven watching
over you and all the tools and all the help that you need. However, you
must be aware and not ignorant of the devices that the enemy will use
to get you off your path.
1 Peter 5:8-9
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like
a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 9 Resist him, steadfast in
the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your
brotherhood in the world.
You may say, “How can anyone live a pure, upright, noble, really good
life? We all make mistakes!”
You are absolutely right! God never expects that you would be pure,
but that your heart would be pure toward Him. We all make mistakes,
but we have an advocate with the Father and His name is Christ Jesus.
His blood was shed to make you pure and white as snow. (Isa. 1:18)
1 John 2:1
My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin.
And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ
Isn’t that great news! So, don’t worry or fret, keep your heart pure by
the constant “watering” of the Word of God and your path will be as
perfect as Jesus’s as He walks with you on that Path of Righteousness.
Hebrews 13:5 (NKJV)
5 Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such
things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor
You can be assured, that you will never walk your path alone!
