The Potential in You Part 4
Patience – “Wait I say Upon the Lord”

“Where lives change and where life can begin again”

I pray that you had an amazing Christmas. It is one thing to have Christmas full of family and

friends, but it is so much better to have Christmas full of “Christ”. I can go anywhere and be

with anyone or no one and still be fulfilled, because He is with me.

So, I pray you had a “Christ-filled” Christmas. He makes all the difference!

We have been talking about, “The Potential in You”. Each one of us has a wonderful potential

within us. It is God given and God originated. From the moment we gave our lives to Christ,

we became born again into a new beginning. He put himself within us to do great things.

Now that we have his characteristics within us, we must develop them every day. It is a

growing and maturing process that gets better as we put them to use in our lives. I’m

referring to the Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Gentleness, Faithfulness, Goodness,

and Self-Control now living on the inside of you. This is the power within us to accomplish

great things in our lives. It is the fruit or the very “essence” of God in us”. God came to make

His home in each one of us. Not to make us feel warm and cozy all over, but that

the power within us would change the world around us.

Let’s talk about Patience.

Let’s define what it is. When larger words are broken down and defined, our understanding

brings revelation of what we are reading and transforms our heart and minds. The

bible says in Proverbs, “in all of our getting, get understanding”. (Proverbs 4:5-7)

Without understanding it becomes surface knowledge and fleeting, never bearing fruit

or results in our life. We should want and desire deeper revelation to bring results that

change our world and make it better.

Dictionary. com states…

Patience – the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting angry

or upset. the quality of being patient, as the bearing of provocation, annoyance, misfortune,

or pain, without complaint, loss of temper, irritation, or the like. 2. an ability or willingness to

suppress restlessness or annoyance when confronted with delay. This definition is fine if it is

not an effort of our own minds or mental capacity. But real patience comes from deep within

as we develop our knowledge of the God in us and for us.

The bible talks about patience in James 1:2-6.

James 1:2-6 (NKJV)

2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing

of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be

perfect and complete, lacking nothing. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who

gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask in

faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed

by the wind.

Patience waits, knowing this, that God hears, knows and answers without delay. I

am reminded of Daniel many times in my waiting.

Please read Daniel 10:4-20

The story of Daniel always encourages my soul when the waiting appears to be alone and

unheard and longer than I anticipated. As you read Daniel 10, you will realize that angels are

fighting on your behalf according to your prayers of faith. Not your complaining or crying, no

matter how loud or quiet, God is moved by your faith.

Daniel 10:12 (NKJV)

12″ Then he said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel or (Lynette), for from the first day that you set

your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard;

and I have come because of your words”.

God listens and comes because of our words of faith and love toward Him. Put your name in

this passage. This bible is for you. Not to just tell you stories, but to lead you through life and

give instruction to succeed. It also gives you amazing examples of faith.

James1 says…

6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven

and tossed by the wind. And it goes on to say, “For let not that man suppose that he will

receive anything from the Lord;”.

Our faith produces patience in God. Any other patience is human made and forced and

usually will not last under the pressure. However, God-given faith will last for a lifetime and

our patience will rest in His ability and not ourselves or others.

“But let patience have its perfect work, so that you will be entire, and wanting nothing.” Whole

and complete, strong and confident to stand in the battle and win. Every time!

When we realize that it isn’t us, but Him in us, we can stand against every storm that is

formed in our lives with confidence, patience and a no quit, I win attitude. You will come out

on top, with total victory. With not only your patience intact, but stronger and more persistent.

Let the scriptures in Daniel encourage you that God is already on the way as you pray. Don’t

stop thanking God for the answer and rest assured, it is only a matter of a little time.

The potential is on the inside of you to work the patience in your life. Don’t look to yourself,

but to Him. I don’t know about you, but I want to be “Whole” and “Entire” and wanting

NOTHING! I REST, and the peace of God surrounds me.

I’m on my way, how about you?
