The Potential in You Part 6
Goodness – “You’re a good, good Father”

“Where lives change and where life can begin again”

The song, “You Are A Good, Good Father” written by Pat Barrett and sung by

many popular Christian artists today, touches my heart every time I hear it. It

sends me into a place of worship that reminds me of who He is and how loved

I am by Him. Every day is a reminder of the love of the Father. The simple

things like, birds singing at the end of the day or a simple sunrise with all of its

magnificent colors and radiance. Looking at my grandchildren sleeping so

peacefully or the wind blowing on my face and feeling as if it is the “touch of

God”, brings back the remembrance of HIs goodness. Most of us are so busy,

we don’t notice the simple signs of His goodness and love. My challenge to you

is, take the time to see. The Holy Spirit reminds me, He is just a whisper

away. What a good, good Father!

As I open my eyes to see, it reminds me what a really good, good Father He

truly is.

We will be talking about goodness today. Goodness is the potential in you to

walk and talk just like God. When we begin to look through the eyes of God,

with the love of Christ, the goodness of God begins to rise on the inside of

each of us and is extended to all we touch. That goodness is on the inside of

you, where God dwells and loves you and wants to love others through you.

When I think of an excellent example of goodness at the highest level, of

course Jesus is at the top of the list, but also, I think of Mother Teresa. From

the age of 12, she knew she had a call of God on her life to love the world like

Christ loved the world. She was an example to all. We need to love the world

like Christ loved the world. Think of someone that is a true example of

goodness. Study their life and learn from wonderful examples.

I am going to share with you a God-given revelation He placed within my

heart to share with you in defining “goodness”.

Goodness is the “sweetness” within each of us. Goodness is the core fruit of a

person. Every core within us should be “God-within”. I will say it again, every

core within us, should be “God-within”. There should never be a core of

bitterness, anger, resentment, and hate. The product of this is death! Maybe

not physical death, yet, soulish death on the inside. “Rotting” away all that is

good. Goodness is “ripened” with consistent time with God.

When God comes to dwell, goodness is the depth of who you are. It is the

deep essence of who God is. Kindness and compassion are the by-products of

the goodness inside of us. Goodness is birthed from the God within. He

breaths himself inside of us, and He grows each day to the full age of

Goodness.

I don’t believe we reach full age until we see Him face to face. It is a continual

growth of the fruit and potential on the inside that matures and blossoms into

the changing and maturing of lives, homes, marriages and so much more. How

far will you go?

The goodness of God is so vast that we cannot obtain it all, nor could we

understand it all. But in His infinite kindness, He gives us as much as we dare

to take. He never gives it to us to keep to ourselves, but to share and give

away. He has more than enough for all creation, for all eternity. That goodness

completes us and uses us, to give hope to others. And if we nurture it each

day with the WORD and the love of God, it grows and becomes extremely

fruitful.

Psalm 34:8

“Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in

Him!”

Lamentations 3:25

“The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, To the soul who seeks Him.

Psalm 23 (Message Bible) tells the story well. Listen with your heart!

1-3 God, my shepherd!

I don’t need a thing.

You have bedded me down in lush meadows,

you find me quiet pools to drink from.

True to your word,

you let me catch my breath

and send me in the right direction.

4 Even when the way goes through

Death Valley,

I’m not afraid

when you walk at my side.

Your trusty shepherd’s crook

makes me feel secure.

5 You serve me a six-course dinner

right in front of my enemies.

You revive my drooping head;

my cup brims with blessing.

6 Your beauty and love chase after me

every day of my life.

I’m back home in the house of God

for the rest of my life.

The Message Bible explains goodness and mercy as being beauty and love

chasing after us.

Embrace the goodness of God today. I always minister, today is the day for

your new beginning or salvation. Today is the day for your healing and

deliverance. Seize it, embrace it and walk in it. The goodness of God is chasing

after you, ready to make his home in you.

Goodness was placed in you to complete you, but also to show forth the God

in you. You may be the only God that someone has ever seen. Show Him off

today. God is in you to be seen through the fruit growing and maturing on the

inside of you.

Be an ambassador, be a light in darkness, be an example of Christ.

It’s in you. Share the “sweetness” of God today.
